Puerto de Mogán sits at the very end of the GC-1 motorway, in the south-west corner of Gran Canaria, and there are five ways to get there: by bus, by ferry, by car, by taxi or by private transfer. This guide tells you which one suits you depending on where you are coming from, with the routes, timetables and fares published by Global, Líneas Salmón, Líneas Blue Bird and the Mogán taxi cooperative, checked on 2 November 2026. Timetables change with the seasons: use them to plan and double-check the day before.

Which option suits you, depending on where you start
The short answer: from the airport, take bus 91; from Puerto Rico or Arguineguín, take the ferry, which for us is also the most scenic way in; and from Maspalomas and Playa del Inglés, take the bus or drive, depending on how much you plan to move around afterwards. A taxi is the easy option if there are three or four of you with luggage.

How to get to Puerto de Mogán by bus
Intercity buses in the south are run by Global (locals call a bus a guagua), and several routes reach Puerto de Mogán. They all end at Estación Puerto de Mogán, a bus station with numbered bays at the entrance to the village.
Bus from the airport to Puerto de Mogán: route 91
This is the one you want if you are flying in. It links Las Palmas (Santa Catalina and San Telmo), the airport, Arguineguín, Puerto Rico, Amadores, Tauro and Playa del Cura with Puerto de Mogán, without going into Playa del Inglés. According to Global, it takes about 60 minutes from the airport, costs €6.80 and leaves every hour at 35 minutes past. At the airport, Aena places the bus stop on floor 1, Departures.
In Puerto de Mogán the 91 leaves from bay 1, roughly every hour between 7:15 and 22:15 on weekdays. One detail worth knowing: some services from Las Palmas, mostly mid-morning, terminate at Taurito, so check the destination board before you get on.
Route 1 also links Las Palmas and the airport with Puerto de Mogán, but it stops a lot along the way: Vecindario, the Playa del Inglés and Maspalomas area, Arguineguín and Puerto Rico. It is the most frequent: every 20 minutes in the middle of the day on weekdays and every half hour at weekends, with services through most of the night. Use it if the 91 does not fit your plans or you are heading somewhere in between. In Puerto de Mogán it leaves from bays 2 and 3.
Routes 32 and 33: from Maspalomas and Playa del Inglés to Puerto de Mogán
From the main resort area, two routes split the week between them:
Route 32 (Monday to Friday): Playa del Inglés (Parque Tropical station), Faro de Maspalomas, Meloneras and Puerto de Mogán, without going through Puerto Rico. Every 20 or 30 minutes from 9:00 to 16:30, then at 17:00 and 18:00.
Route 33 (Saturdays and public holidays): same starting point, but along the coast via Arguineguín, Puerto Rico and Amadores. Every half hour between 9:25 and 17:55.
Both cost €4.15 from Playa del Inglés or the Faro, and in Puerto de Mogán they leave from bays 6 and 7.

Routes 84 and 38: up to Mogán village and La Aldea
If you want to head inland afterwards, the 84 runs from bay 4 to Mogán village via El Hornillo roughly every hour, from 7:40 to 22:40 on weekdays (€1.40). The 38 carries on to La Aldea de San Nicolás via Veneguera, with few departures: Monday to Saturday at 7:00, 11:40, 16:00 and 19:40, and on Sundays and public holidays only at 7:40 and 18:40.

Puerto Rico to Mogán ferry: timetable and prices
Arriving by sea has its rewards: the boat runs past cliffs you cannot see from the road and drops you right in the harbour, two minutes from the beach. Two companies run a scheduled service between Arguineguín, Anfi del Mar, Puerto Rico and Puerto de Mogán, with daily sailings. Neither stops at Amadores.

Adults pay the same with both companies; child fares differ slightly. Children under 6 travel free. As for time, Blue Bird publishes 30 minutes from Puerto Rico to Mogán (35 on the way back), 65 from Anfi and 75 from Arguineguín, because the boat calls at the ports in between. Líneas Salmón does not publish crossing times.
Puerto Rico harbour, with the beach behind: the scheduled boats to Mogán leave from the quays next to the beach.
In Puerto Rico, Líneas Salmón sails from Puerto Escala, opposite the beach, and Blue Bird from the Puerto Base quay. Tickets are sold on their websites or at the ticket booth on the quay. You can also book them with us. Note that the ‘from’ price on the cards is not the adult fare to Puerto de Mogán, which is the one in the table above (€8, €12 or €15 one way depending on where you board, official fares checked on 2 November 2026); you see the final amount when you book.
The first three routes go to Puerto de Mogán; the fourth runs the other way, for a day in Puerto Rico or Arguineguín if you are staying in Mogán:
Blue Bird says on its website that all five of its boats have underwater viewing, including the 247-seat Blue Bird Cat catamaran; Líneas Salmón does not advertise it. If it matters to you, ask at the quay which boat is doing your crossing. If what you really want is to see the seabed, Puerto de Mogán has a tourist submarine.

How to get to Puerto de Mogán by car
By car you cannot miss it: the GC-1 motorway ends at Puerto de Mogán. It is about 53 km from the airport and about 26 km from Playa del Inglés. The last stretch, from Puerto Rico onwards, runs through tunnels and over viaducts across the ravines.

The GC-1 crosses the Tauro ravine before entering the tunnel: this is the last stretch to Mogán.
Distances are the ones the Mogán taxi cooperative uses for its prices; times assume no traffic. One thing that confuses a lot of sat-navs: the old coast road, the GC-500, is closed between Taurito and Playa de Mogán because of rockfalls. The Canary Islands Government approved the design for a 313-metre tunnel in July 2025 to restore that link, and in July 2026 announced that the works would go out to tender that same year; there is no opening date. In the meantime, you reach Taurito via the GC-1.
Parking in Puerto de Mogán: where to leave the car
Parking is the hard part, especially from mid-morning. There are three pay car parks right by the harbour:
Aparcamiento del Puerto de Mogán, on Calle Rivera del Carmen, next to the beach. Its Google Maps listing says it is open 24 hours.
Parking Mogán, covered, on Calle La Mina, a few metres from the beach. Open from 8:00 to midnight, with electric car charging.
Dique sur car park (south breakwater), private and paid, inside the port, next to the quay for the scheduled boats and the submarine. Submarine passengers get two hours free, subject to availability, and vehicle access is restricted on Fridays because of the market, according to Atlántida Submarine.
None of them publishes its rates online, so check them at the entrance. Free parking does exist, but space is limited: there is some street parking and a few parking areas at the top and at the entrance of the village, which fill up early in high season. Only park where it is allowed: leaving the car across a driveway, on a hard shoulder or on a bend ends in a fine.
Going on a Friday? Mind the market. It is the busiest day of the week with the least parking, and car access to the south breakwater is restricted: arrive before ten or come by bus or boat. And if you are staying in the village, check the signs on Thursday night: some areas by the harbour are off-limits for parking while the stalls go up.
Taxi in Mogán: fares to the airport, Arguineguín and Puerto Rico
Taxis in the municipality belong to the Cooperativa de Taxis de Mogán, which brings together most licences and runs 24 hours a day. You can spot them easily: white with a green roof and the town council crest on the front doors. Their central number is 928 154 777, and in Puerto de Mogán there is a taxi rank next to the harbour car park.
Fares are official and set by the meter: €3.85 flag fall and €1.35 per kilometre by day (6:00 to 22:00), and €4.25 plus €1.55 per kilometre at night and on public holidays, with a €2.10 supplement at airports and ports. Using those rates, the cooperative publishes these approximate prices from Puerto de Mogán:

At the airport, always take a taxi from the official rank (floor 0, outside the terminal, according to Aena) and add the €2.10 supplement. Split between four people, a taxi from the airport works out at about €19 each.
If you land late, with children or with a lot of luggage, a pre-booked private transfer will be waiting for you in arrivals at a fixed price. If you plan to explore the island, a hire car is the most flexible option: pick it up at the airport and you are in Mogán in 45 minutes. You will find the options on our Gran Canaria car hire page. Bear parking in mind: if you are staying in the village, ask whether your accommodation has a space.
On foot: from the bus station, the boat or the beach to the harbour
Once you are there, Puerto de Mogán is a place to walk. The bus station is about 500 metres from the ferry quay, around seven minutes on foot. The scheduled boats dock in the harbour itself, next to Playa de Mogán, so the boat, the beach and the village are no more than a couple of minutes apart. From Taurito, on the other hand, there is no walkway: the GC-500 stretch is closed, and the practical options are the bus (routes 1, 9 and 70 and some route 91 services stop at Taurito) or a taxi via the GC-1. We explain it in our Taurito beach guide.

Going on market Friday
On Friday mornings the Puerto de Mogán market takes over and the village fills up. It is the day when leaving the car behind pays off most: the ferry from Puerto Rico or Arguineguín drops you in the middle of the market, and the bus a few minutes away. If you would rather have it all arranged, there is a trip with hotel pick-up and an optional boat ride:

Ferry, bus or car: pros and cons
The best of going without a car
You forget about parking, which is the village’s big headache
The ferry from Puerto Rico is a trip in itself
The bus is cheap: €1.55 from Puerto Rico and €6.80 from the airport
You can have lunch and a drink without worrying about driving
What to bear in mind
The last boat to Puerto Rico leaves at 17:45: too early for sunset
Coastal buses stop a lot and get crowded at peak times
With suitcases, the bus and the boat are awkward
To head inland from the harbour, bus 38 has very few departures
