Our verdictAnalysis by the HeyMogan team

The overall opinion of Avis Budget is predominantly negative, primarily due to poor customer service and issues with vehicle quality. Key criticisms include receiving a faulty car that broke down shortly after use, long wait times for assistance, and unexpected costs for towing and taxi services that were not communicated clearly. There are no notable positives mentioned in the review.

Avis Budget in Mogán, Gran Canaria, has received mixed feedback from customers, leading to an average rating of 3 out of 5. Many guests express dissatisfaction regarding the quality of the vehicles, with one reviewer specifically mentioning their experience with a defective car. This has raised concerns about the overall maintenance of the fleet.

Service issues are another common theme in the reviews, with several guests complaining about long wait times and a lack of effective customer support. One visitor noted that there were unfulfilled promises regarding refunds, which contributed to a frustrating experience.

This has led to a perception of poor customer service, failing to meet expectations during the rental process.

In summary, while some aspects of Avis Budget might appeal to certain customers, the negative comments regarding vehicle quality and customer service seem to dominate the feedback. Potential renters should be aware of these issues before making a decision.

I have never experienced such bad and unprofessional service. We were assigned a Citroen. The car was already rattling terribly at pickup. Right after the first 50 kilometers, the vehicle showed a engine defect warning. The car had to be stopped immediately according to the display. Called Avis/Budget. Two hours on hold. Then finally a staff member who arranged for the car to be picked up. They already confirmed that the costs would be covered. A replacement car is no problem. Call the next morning, then Avis/Budget will drive us to the airport station and we will get a replacement car. Done deal. Then we were told there was no taxi available. We should pay for the taxi upfront and would get reimbursed right away. The Avis/Budget employee already knew about it. None of that was true. Suddenly we had to pay the towing costs of 105 euros, plus the taxi costs of 56 euros. Statement. Our bad luck if the vehicle breaks down. What the hell?
